We are accustomed to seeing history as a movement toward creation, but behind the curtain of progress, there are always those whose true nature is tuned toward decay. In this essay, I want to reflect on “Malefics”—individuals whose inner essence is hardwired for destruction, whether it be a single human life, a social institution, or an entire state. This is an invitation to dialogue on how to recognize entropy in human form.

The Anatomy of Decay: Who Are the Malefics Today? If we look for a formal scientific definition, the closest would be the description of a “destructive personality” exhibiting the traits of the Dark Triad: narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy. A Malefic is an individual for whom creation is an inaccessible process. Their self-realization occurs through the subversion of others’ achievements. The danger of such individuals lies in their mimicry. Unlike an open aggressor, a Malefic can act under the mask of a reformer or a fighter for justice. However, the result of their activity is always ashes: broken families, bankrupt companies, or social structures plunged into chaos. Their essence is a virus striving for absolute power over the ruins.

Traits and Methods: Recognizing the Architect of Chaos Recognizing a Malefic in the early stages is a vital task. They are distinguished by a specific “emotional deafness” combined with a hypertrophied ability to manipulate the feelings of others. The main trait of a Malefic is the creation of division. Where there was cohesion, they sow suspicion. In educational institutions, this manifests as sophisticated bullying, where the Malefic becomes an invisible puppeteer. Their threat is global: a Malefic in power is not just a bad ruler, but a person ready to sacrifice world stability to satisfy a personal grudge or confirm their own significance.

The Evolution of Law Under the Pressure of Entropy It is interesting to trace how the legal system has historically changed. In the Middle Ages, treatises like the “Malleus Maleficarum” were attempts to codify the fear of invisible destruction. The tragedy is that the Malefics of that time often became the inquisitors themselves, using the law to destroy creators. In the modern world, the situation is no less alarming. We see how legal norms begin to “blur” under the influence of destructive leaders. Instead of clear rules, vague concepts are introduced, allowing the law to be interpreted in favor of whoever has more media influence. Malefics in power act like termites inside a wooden house: from the outside, everything looks whole until the building collapses.

The Legal Shield: Safeguarding State and Individual How do we fight those whose only creed is destruction? From a legal perspective, defense must be multi-layered. At the individual level, this means developing critical thinking and legal literacy. At the state level, it involves creating strict filters to prevent individuals with destructive tendencies from reaching the levers of power. The legal system must provide for mechanisms of psychological expertise and independent auditing of decisions. The only way to prevent global decay is to return to the letter of the law, which is above any personality, and to strengthen institutions that do not depend on the whim of a single “great reformer.”

Philosophical Conclusion and a Look into the Future In concluding these reflections, I want to emphasize: Maleficism is not a verdict of history, but a challenge to our common sense. Whether in a classroom or the halls of high politics, the Malefic’s principle of action remains the same. Our task is not to succumb to their provocations, not to let them divide us.
